We stay away from hideous modern new builds and expensive beach resorts and look for houses that we think are or could be beautiful.

Local taste is different, so what we consider assets, such as antiquity, are not always valued, while things we see as disadvantages, like being near a busy road, actually mean that properties are more expensive

Rural properties are also not particularly attractive to locals, who prefer holiday homes on the coast. In towns, what we regard as ghastly modern developments currently command higher prices than lovely old properties.

We find the properties ourselves through private sellers and trusted estate agents. We specialise in two main categories, town and rural.
