One of the main reasons we moved to Salento is for the climate, as we love sunshine. The summer months (June-September) are sweltering and even in the middle of the winter we are able to have lunch outside in t-shirts on sunny, still days.
However, as you can see from the table comparing monthly averages, it is not hot and dry all year round. In fact, we sometimes have heavy rain, especially in autumn and it can be cold in winter when the sun is not shining.
