| Click here to see plan On the ground flloor is a very large barrel-vaulted room which has been partially restored (see 2nd pic on top left) and could be converted into a studio flat. There are also several other smaller rooms and a cellar in need of restoration. This part of the house dates back to the 16th century. On the first floor there are 2 large star-vaulted rooms, plus a barrel-vaulted kitchen, dining room, bathroom and utility room, all in decent condition with working electrics and plumbing, although some of these would need modernising. There is also a covered balcony with a lovely view of the main church and the courtyard below (see 2 large pics on the right). From the 1st floor are stairs that lead to the large roof terrace which has a great view of the old town and beyond. There is also a large room on the terrace that needs a new tiled /wooden roof and could convert into a lovely summer guest room or a rooftop kitchen/living room. The other facade of the property is situated on a lovely cobbled street (see large pic top left). The house is in excellent structural condition and is habitable in some parts, retaining many of its original features. Matino is unique town in Salento as it situated on a hill and is full of pretty winding white-washed streets. It also has a direct road to some of SalentoÕs best beaches. |
